▪If the stalker is an employee of the University, or if you are an employee of the University and believe you are being stalked, Human Resources can provide you with resources, speak with you about your concerns, and take action to stop the offensive behavior if it is occurring at the work site or at work-sponsored activities.

Legal Services for Students

▪LSS staff can advocate for you if you are being stalked (i.e. you want to move because the stalker knows where you live, and you feel unsafe).
▪LSS services can be provided to KU students when the "accused" is not a KU student. If the other party is also a KU student, LSS will refer you to other legal assistance.
▪You may qualify for a protection from abuse order or an injuction. Contact LSS for more information.

FERPA allows directory information to be released to the public.
▪To request that your information be confidential, fill out the "request to place/remove restrictions on the release of information to public inquiry" form. It may be obtained online or by stopping by the Registrar's office. This ensures that your information is not being given to someone.

▪When calling the utility company, you must verify the name on the account. If the individual is not on the account or does not have access to the account, information is not given out.
▪To receive additional protection, you can place a code name on the account to ensure information is not being released.

▪Request that your information be non-published. This ensures that no information will be given out (a small montly fee will be incurred).
▪For added security, request a special pass code for changing information on your account.
▪There are services available to assist those who encounter phone harassment. Ask a representative for more information.

School Districts
▪Contact your child(ren)'s school and request a form to fill out to make your child(ren)'s information confidential (see FERPA guidelines).
▪Communicate with the school so they know what is going on.
