Nominate Women of Distinction for the '08 - '09 Calendar!
The Emily Taylor Women's Resource Center is seeking nominations for outstanding women to be featured on next year's "KU Women of Distinction" calendar. You may nominate any woman student, staff, faculty or alumna who has made contributions to the campus or community. You may nominate individuals or small groups (5 maximum) and groups can include students, staff, faculty and/or alumnae. The calendar will be distributed at the beginning of the Fall '08 semester this coming August.
To nominate an individual, fill out the attached form(s) or pick up copies at the Student Involvement and Leadership Center, 400 Kansas Union. Sexual Assult Awareness Month
Monday April 7: Teal Ribbon Campaign
Teal is the official color to raise awareness for sexual assault. Sexual violence is a global issue that does not know nationality, age, color, gender, class or sexuality. Raise awareness and show your support for eliminating sexual violence. Teal ribbons will be distributed on
campus throughout the month of April.

A compelling program on sexual assault and dating that is interactive and powerful. Take the pledge for action.

Tuesday April 15: Law & Order SVU Episode / Discussion

This episode addresses a rape at a college involving
alcohol & GHB (date rape drug ). A discussion will follow. Sponsored by 1 in 4, a men’s program to end sexual
violence.
Tuesday April 22: Equal Pay Day
Equal Pay Day originated in 1996 as a public
awareness event to illustrate the gap between men’s and women’s wages. Wear Red to symbolize how far women and minorities are “in the red” with their pay. Take the quiz on fair pay distributed on campus.
Sunday April 28: EmPower Self-Defense Course
Student Recreation Center 4-6 pm
Free for KU females and $5 for female community, staff &
faculty. Increase your personal safety, learn important skills and build your self-confidence. Free bottled water provided by Hy-vee. Limited spaces please E-mail:
